I began taking group fitness classes as a student at the University of Maryland while earning my B.S. in Kinesiology. Having been a high school athlete, I struggled to stay active on my own without a team or coach to hold me accountable. That's why I love group fitness! It held me accountable and gave me a workout without me having to think about it! Since I was learning about the body and how exercise helps keep it healthy, I wanted to learn how to plan a workout and a group fitness class. Before my senior year, I became certified as a Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor and began teaching classes for the UMD Recreation Center. I have been certified since and began teaching at the YMCA in 2017. I enjoy planning and teaching challenging classes that help with functional movements and core strength.
